Taking care of your lingerie

Many bras loose their life as a result of regular wearing, machine washing and tumble drying. Wearing the same bra for long periods of time may cause the bra to loose elasticity and support.
When your bra gets to this stage it is advised to purchase some new bras but there are ways to prolong the life of your bra.

Bra Care tips

Always follow the care labels, which often advise hand washing.

Washing
Fill a bowl with cold water and gentle detergent (shampoo or hand soap also works) soak for no longer than half an hour. Rub the bra (lingerie item) gently with hand and make sure that you use enough water to get the sweat out. If the bra is made of silk, lace or satin, exercise extra caution when rubbing so as not to pull the threads out

Detergent weakens the fibres of the material make sure you rinse your lingerie garments thoroughly. Not rinsing your garments properly will lead to fabric erosion, and may cause your lingerie to expand in size.

Drying
Do not leave your lingerie under direct sunlight for too long as this may take away the vibrancy of the colors instead, after washing, clip them to a clothesline or hang them on a drying rack

Washing Machine
If you'd rather use the washing machine than hand-wash, put them in a lingerie bag or pillowcase, and set your machine on the delicate cycle at a cool temperature.
